Prednisolone acetate
Indications/Uses
Various inflammatory & allergic ocular conditions eg, allergic, catarrhal & vernal conjunctivitis, inflammatory keratitis, iritis & other inflammatory disorders of the anterior segment of the globe.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Contraindications
Adverse Reactions
Elevation of IOP w/ possible development of glaucoma. Acute anterior uveitis & perforation of the globe.
Drug Interactions
May increase hypokalemia w/ amphotericin. May decrease effect of oral hypoglycemics, insulin, diuretics, K supplements. May increase toxicity of digoxin. Decreased effect w/ hepatic enzyme inducers. Live virus vaccines may potentiate virus replication, increase vaccines side effects, decrease patient's Ab response to vaccine. May decrease Ca, cholesterol, lipids, glucose, Na, amylase.
